Had a wonderful, educational experience at Music Meadows. Our guide, Debbie, was phenomenal. She had so much patience with our young, enthusiastic children ages 7 and 9. The other staff we met were equally caring and professional. The horses were gentle and loving. We learned how to greet the horses, groom, saddle, and guide the horses. We rode for a couple hours into the beautiful Mountains that flank the ranch. We crossed creeks and trotted in meadows. We definitely want to come back again. Next time we will bring sunscreen and chapstick!
Music Meadows Ranch is a fun little ranch to stay at; it has great views all around and very peaceful and quiet. Our budget at the time didn’t allow for us to ride the horses and our son wanted to ride. A year back or so he fell off a running horse and was pretty shaken up; the owner was very gracious and kind to give our son a short controlled ride for free and our son, who is six years old now, is comfortable with horses again. The house we stayed in on the ranch is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked. It was fun to make coffee on a gas stove with a coffee percolator. In the summer there is plenty of hiking and fishing at the small lakes owned by Music Meadows; they even have fishing equipment you can borrow. My family definitely would stay there again.
Wanna be a cowboy, wanna learn to rope and ride? We'll then, Music Meadows Ranch is calling your name. Named after one of the many snow-fed creeks that crisscrosses this majestic land, Music Meadows is a rare gem.
Whether you're a first time rider or someone whose always had a hankerin' to drive some cattle, the folks at Music Meadows want to help you realize that dream. Real ranchers committed to making your horseback experience everything you dreamed it could be.
We had a great experience here at the Music Meadows Ranch. Elin is a wonderful teacher and host when it comes to horseback riding and making you feel at home. The stars, sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking and her selection of beef, brats, and jerky are to die for. Thank you for giving people the opportunity to get a way from the hustle and bustle of life in the city and exchange it (briefly as it is) for a taste of a slower, more rustic way of life.
Music Meadows supplies Horn creek (Christian camp) with horses and manages the rising activities. The girls working onsite were not friendly to the kids, abrupt and very short. The policy as of 2015 is that if you can't get on your horse with NO assistance then you can't ride. At 5'1", and 180 there are many things I can do... However catapulting my body up a 18 hand horse after 40... Was going to be questionable. You can not use a step, fence, hay or anything for assistance. Upon trying to get on the head wrangler was rude calling me "too fat" to get on the horse. (I wanna see what she looks like at 4" after 2 kids) No where was this explained when I purchased the activity, no where in the waiver way this stated, no where at the barn was this rule disclosed to me. They are judge mental, rude, and discriminating in my opinion! Shame on Horn Creek for contracting out and not having a say in the rules, shame on Music Meadows for not having allowances for special needs and support the kinds of families that pay to come to Horn Creek. Can honestly say this might be our last year, not going to pay to be treated poorly!
