Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Established and focused on caring for the animals. Primitive camping except for Portapotties and potable water is available. Do not go up during bad weather because roads can get muddy and the animals are not interested in seeing you.

Give them a call and ask about camping if you want to stay the weekend for a truly amazing experience that comes with a beautiful song with 50+ wolves howling in the night. You wont regret it! .....unless you really can't stand not having air conditioning! XD

If you've read this review and are considering going to visit M:W, I highly recommend it. They don't even charge admission and if you want to help with a project, I'm sure they would be grateful and put you to work. Hey, you can see a lot of my handy work while you're at it (I made all of the sweet log benches in the community buildings)! ;3

Great place to learn about wolf conservation. Camping nearby and hearing the wolves howl is a once in a lifetime experience.

I used to volunteer here for a year and it was, by far, the most amazing experience of my life. This place is beautiful, the staff consists of unpaid volunteers, and Kent Weber is one of the gentlest people I've ever met. He's a lot like Mister Rodgers, and hey, if you Google Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Mission Wolf, you'll get a treat ;3

This is one of the coolest experiences you will have. I led a school trip there, the kids were captivated and I was blown away by how hands on everything is. If you've ever wanted to kiss a wolf or butcher an animal to feed the pack, this is your chance. Plus, it is in an absolutely gorgeous part of the state. Make the trip. Howl with the pack. You won't regret it.

I highly recommend taking a day to visit. You learn so much about the wolves. We went on a big feed day so the wolves were very active. The beautiful sound of them joining together howling is music to the ears. Make sure you participate in the Wolf talks where you get to interact with some of the wolves.

Mission:Wolf is probably not the best wolf sanctuary for Sarah S. to visit. Just getting there can be very difficult or impossible by conventional means depending on the season and weather. It's completely off grid. The wolves have very large enclosures (roughly 2+ acres each and there's a giant play pen too) that allow them to been seen if they want to be seen or hide if they want to hide. They tend to want to be seen more often than not so she just happened to come at a bad day. Because of this small difference, they live less stressful lives and live longer and happier as a result.
