Good place for stuff, prices are a little on the high side, but it's the only place for stuff within 60 or 70 miles!
Best hardware store in town! Possibly the only hardware store in town, but regardless, they're nice people and probably have what you need.
We've used the store for the building materials for our home in 96. 12 yrs later we used their design center to update our kitchen. They have done this small mtn. town a great service. They have pretty much have everything you need and in one place.
3). They don't have any desire to be trained because there's never any new improvement in training, knowledge or customer service by them.
Living in the mountains with a population of just over 1,000 people, you wouldn't think a large store like Ace would come. Hope & Paul did come and build a full service store.
Most of the employees are rude and have no customer service skills! Nor are they capable of helping you because,
1). They aren't interested in helping you 2). They are not trained in the business. They don't have any knowledge of the products they sell.
Ok selection, prices tend to be a bit higher than average. Depending on the project or amount of supplies needed it becomes more cost effective to drive to the city to shop. Staff is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
Everyone working there knows their department and are always helpful. thanks, The Houston's
4). Management is not interested in training their employees. Because there isn't any improvements in their employees.
There is some positive about this store. It's close to home when you consider around the block is a country mile. And there is a SMALL group of good and above average employees working here. Four (4) of them that care about their customer and are able to answer questions and give factual information that is accurate and reliable. They have excellent customer service and will do what is needed to help you. So when I do have to come here I look for one of these individuals.
5). For example: I purchased 4 bags of wood pellets for my pellet stove. I told him I would load my truck from the stock they had in the front of the store. The employee told me I couldn't do that because they were saving that stock for Sunday's sales. And I would have to drive to the back of the warehouse to load up. So what he essentially told me is that he and the rest of the employees are to lazy to restock their shelves and pallets with new merchandise as it sells out. He also told me that he wasn't interested in providing customer service to me. This isn't the only time I have experience this level of service. Out of necessity I must return here to do business because it's the only lumber and hardware store in town, actually the valley. The next nearest store is an hour and a half away one-way travel time. Therefore I have had numerous experiences like over the past two years since I've moved here. It's a huge disappointment.
