Beer and food pretty decent. Seems like a small town place that locals enjoy. The staff was very interactive with the customers. Super casual.
They were very busy when we went. The female cook was very moody but the male cook did an awesome job keeping his composure while getting his behind kicked. Food was good. Prices weren't bad. Overall not a bad place but maybe during summer months.....a little better staffed.
The food is EXCELLENT! But I couldn't give it 5 stars because the service leaves a little to be desired. They need more wait staff from what I can tell, but they are very friendly and helpful. Also, the place is overly hot due to the fact that they cook over coals and don't have a decent way to manage the tremendous amount of heat that this puts off. I will return to Chappy's because the food is so good, but I will make sure that I get a table close to the front door so that I don't bake.
We entered Chappy’s starving after a long hike unsure of what to expect on our first trip to Westcliffe. Our experience from food to service was exceptional! We received a friendly welcome into a mini-post-lunch-rush environment. Four tables were seated within 5 minutes and our waitress zipped through drink orders then our order was taken. I ordered the Bronco and my wife ordered the Western burger. The beef is grass fed and was cooked by a skillful employee moving right in front of us. The homemade Mac & Cheese was pure joy in a hot ramekin. The fries were also tasty. I was most impressed with the cross service of the staff in this quaint restaurant. Only one server, but the line cook seamlessly transitioned to welcome guests when the server had to leave the floor for a minute. The only improvements could be a more diverse beer selection and some more gluten free options for the Mrs. We will absolutely return.
When you want good food - I mean fire grilled burgers and nice ladies to serve it to you then go here. There is literally a wood fire burning under the grill. The place has more personality than Tina Turner has hair.
